How to fix Duplicate storey elevation in your authoring tool

Concrete, tool-specific steps. The check itself is schema-agnostic and works for IFC2x3, IFC4, IFC4x1 and IFC4x3.

Authoring toolHow to fix
Revit Two levels share the same elevation. In the Levels view give each Level a unique elevation (or delete the duplicate), and export only true building storeys as levels (turn off “Building Story”/export on the others).
ArchiCAD Open Story Settings and set a unique elevation per story; merge or delete duplicated stories at the same height.
Tekla In the level/phase list assign a unique elevation to each level used for the IFC storey structure and remove duplicates.
Allplan In the building structure set distinct heights per storey and remove duplicate storeys that resolve to the same elevation.
